Terms of Service

The rules and responsibilities that keep this private career-transition workspace useful, secure, and trustworthy.

Effective July 24, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

Harbor Shift is operated by Harbor Ventures LLC (“Harbor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By activating an account or using Harbor Shift (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Harbor Shift is a human-centered career enhancement platform. It can help you organize experience, build and verify a career profile, explore credible career paths, develop skills, and prepare career materials. Harbor Shift is not an employer, staffing agency, job board, legal adviser, financial adviser, or guarantee of employment.

Some features are still being developed and may be identified as demonstrations, previews, or unavailable. Demonstrations must be used only with fictional information unless we clearly state that real intake is enabled.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. You agree to provide accurate account information, keep it current, protect access to your email and account, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized use.

Access may be provided through an employer or another sponsor. An invitation is intended only for its named recipient and may expire or be revoked.

4. Your Career Information

You retain ownership of the résumés, profile facts, corrections, biography, and other content you provide. You give Harbor a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you.

You are responsible for the information you submit and for confirming that career materials are accurate before using or sharing them. Do not submit information you do not have the right to use.

5. Sponsor Relationship and Privacy Boundary

You choose whether a sponsor receives Bare Minimum, Limited, or Full sponsor-facing information. The levels range from anonymous program totals to an identified career and training summary. Harbor Shift does not provide original résumé files, assessment answers, coaching notes, evidence, or application activity to a sponsor at any level.

Sponsorship does not make the sponsor the owner of your private career information. More detail appears in our Privacy Policy.

6. AI and Automated Features

Harbor Shift may use automated or AI-assisted features to organize information, identify possible strengths, or suggest paths and materials. These outputs can be incomplete or incorrect. You must review and verify them before relying on them.

Harbor Shift will not submit an application, send a message on your behalf, or take another consequential career action without a separate authorization appropriate to that action.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm another person.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent qualifications or work history.
  • Upload malware, executable content, or files disguised as supported documents.
  • Probe, bypass, or interfere with security, access controls, or rate limits.
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, resell, or commercially exploit the Service.
  • Submit highly sensitive information that the Service does not request.

8. Document Safety

When document upload is available, supported files and size limits will be shown in the Service. File-type and active-content checks reduce risk but do not guarantee that a file is free of malware. Authorized staff may download an original document only for an operational need and must scan it locally before opening it.

9. Third-Party Services

We use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery, security, and error monitoring. Their services may be subject to their own terms. Harbor is not responsible for third-party websites you choose to visit or services you independently use.

10. Billing, Renewal, Cancellation, and Refunds

Paid access, when offered, is purchased through Stripe-hosted Checkout. Prices, billing interval, renewal timing, taxes, and cancellation terms are shown before purchase. Access begins only after payment is confirmed and may enter a limited grace state after a failed renewal. You can manage payment methods and cancellation through Stripe’s customer portal.

Unless a checkout offer or applicable law states otherwise, charges already earned for a billing period are non-refundable. We may approve a refund for duplicate charges, technical billing errors, or another circumstance required by law. Cancellation prevents future renewal and does not automatically refund a completed charge. A sponsoring organization owns and controls the seats it purchases, but never owns participant career information.

11. Harbor Intellectual Property

Harbor Shift’s name, logo, visual system, software, and original content are owned by Harbor Ventures LLC or its licensors. Except for the limited right to use the Service, these Terms do not transfer any Harbor intellectual-property rights to you.

12. Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, impose reasonable limits, or perform maintenance. We work to keep the Service dependable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harbor disclaims implied warranties and does not guarantee career outcomes, interviews, offers, compensation, or the accuracy of automated suggestions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harbor Ventures LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Harbor Ventures LLC, its officers, and employees from claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service, content you submit, or violation of these Terms.

15. Suspension, Termination, and Deletion

We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated violation of these Terms, security risk, or legal requirement. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account. Deletion is subject to verification, operational processing time, legal obligations, and the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pierce County, Washington, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when legally required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
